The Santa Clarita Valley in northern Los Angeles County is home to almost 300,000 residents and is growing significantly faster than other regions in the State. A large portion of SCV residents work in high-paying fields, and have higher education levels than other SoCal regions.
In 2020, at the bottom of the recession, the unemployment rate in the SCV surpassed 20 percent. This has normalized to below 5%, and the majority of jobs lost during the recession have been recovered.
