While large company relocations to the Santa Clarita Valley garner press coverage and accolades, business attraction is only one strategy to grow jobs in the Santa Clarita Valley. Business expansion is another leg of the stool, and a new initiative showcases the third keg of the stool: entrepreneurship.
This week, the City of Santa Clarita released a Request for Proposal identify creative and technology focused start-up companies for the new Small Business Incubator in Old Town Newhall.
In partnership with the Small Business Development Center, the incubator will support four to six entrepreneurs with low-cost office space and essential tools needed to grow a start-up company including support, guidance, consulting services, educational workshops, and networking opportunities.
Every major employer started as an idea by an entrepreneur, and was a small company once. Creating a positive environment for entrepreneurs is a critical component of expanding the Santa Clarita Valley's reputation as a center for business and industry.
