Select LA Investment Summit 2017
City of LA Mayor Eric Garcetti and LA County Supervisor Kathryn Barger discussed the potential for investors to participate in developing the infrastructure needed to realize the goals of Measure M (Los Angeles County Traffic Improvement Plan), Measure H (Homeless Initiative) and other projects in the LA region.
Successful LA entrepreneurs shared their business experiences in LA along with the key factors that are driving opportunity in the region. The event also served to assist investors in making connections with local experts able to facilitate the investment process.
The Foreign Direct Investment in Southern California: 2017 Edition, was also presented at the Select LA Investment Summit. The report, which details the number of firms and related jobs that are attributed to FDI in the Los Angeles region revealed that nearly 10,000 firms and 439,000 jobs result from FDI.

Attendees included investors from Brazil, Canada, China, Germany, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, Singapore, the UK and a dozen more countries. Many of the attendees then moved on to SelectUSA in Washington, D.C., including WTCLA president Stephen Cheung and staff who represent the LA region at the national FDI attraction event.
