Looking to expand, Ram Board has selected Santa Clarita as the site for its new home base.

The Burbank company will be moving over 30 employees into space in the Valencia Industrial Center, said Holly Schroeder, president and CEO of the Santa Clarita Valley Economic Development Corporation.

Launched in 1999, Ram Board originally protected floors from the rigorous demands or heavy traffic and equipment on flooring while filming within the movie industry. It was used on the sets of feature films such as “Armageddon,” “The Hulk,” “Spider Man,” and “Pirates of the Caribbean.”

But what began in the studios of Hollywood, the protective flooring now protects construction projects worldwide, according to statements posted on the company’s website.

The company says its products are sold through over 1,000 local lumber and supply stores in the United States and Canada.

Ram Board will be a definite asset to Santa Clarita’s business community and entertainment industry, Schroeder said.

The company leased 41,200 square feet of space on Avenue Scott, said Matt Dierckman, first vice president with CBRE.

“They were looking to expand,” Dierckman said. “The availability of quality building product in Santa Clarita, and the attraction to the neighborhood of Valencia, is what attracted them to the area.”
